Due to the untimely snow storm we have experienced, the radio show scheduled for tonight has been cancelled. Therefore the basketball club meeting has also been cancelled, and will not be rescheduled. There are too many conflicts with tournament play for both teams and other items.

It is important that the ballots for the significant achievement award for the players, and the club officers for 2009-2010 be returned. A letter from the board will be coming to club members shortly with information about returning the ballots and the banquet scheduled for April 9th.

Thanks to everyone for their support this year and to the players for their efforts A special thanks to the Seniors as they move on with their lives. You will be remembered for your dedication and outstanding representation of the University of Delaware, both on and off the court.

Club Background

The club was founded in 1998 with the sole purpose of supporting both the Men's  and Women's basketball programs at the University of Delaware. The Club holds scheduled dinner meetings periodically during the basketball season. At these meetings there is the opportunity to meet players and coaches from both teams, as well as periodic guest speakers. The players and coaches all speak at the meetings

Scheduled Club Meetings:

All meetings will be held at Klondike Kate's on Main Street in Newark. The meetings will  includes a dinner, which will alternate between a buffet and ordering off of the menu. (two buffet meetings, and two meetings ordering off the menu   The cost for the buffet dinner remains at $20.00 for this year. Your cost in ordering off of the menu will depend, of course, on just how hungry you are. When ordering off of the menu, there will be a small additional charge at the meeting to help the Club pay for the guests meals.

Members of the coaching staffs of both teams will attend the meetings along with players from both teams. Coaches and players attending will speak and answer questions from the floor.

University of Delaware  President Patrick Harker will be a guest speaker at the  meeting on February 3, 2009.

At every meeting this season, we will have drawings/giveaways for U of D merchandise from National 5 & 10 on Main Street in Newark. 

Parking is available at Municipal lots in Newark and will be validated by Klondike Kate's. Be sure you bring your parking stub with you to the meeting. T This is a great time for fellowship, to meet the young men and women who represent our University.  You don't have to be a club member to attend so come out and if you like what you see and hear, please consider joining. The meeting schedule follows. Meeting are planned to end around 9:00 PM, but you know what happens to plans.

Please note that University of Delaware President Patrick Harker will speak at the Mar 2, 2009 meeting.

      Scheduled Bus Trips:

Unfortunately The club is unable to schedule any trips this year. It has become very difficult to find away games that would be attractive to Club members. In addition, the lack of interest by club members in recent years was a factor in deciding not to plan any trips this year. The Board is seriously considering eliminating consideration of trips altogether in the future. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Please contact any board member.
